The Backyard Discovery Sarasota 10 x 10 is a freestanding steel pergola designed for adjustable shade and all-season patio use. Its clean black finish and manually operated louvered roof let you open the space to sunlight and airflow or close the louvers for greater shade and rain protection.

Adjustable Shade & Drainage
The Sarasota’s louvered roof gives you direct control over sunlight and shade. The included wand rotates the louvers from an open position for sunlight and ventilation to a closed position for stronger shade and weather protection. Built-in gutters direct rainwater through integrated downspouts in the posts, while gutter guards help reduce debris entering the drainage system.
Steel Construction & Weather Performance
The frame is manufactured from powder-coated galvanized steel for structural strength and improved resistance to rust and corrosion. Backyard Discovery’s Pro-Tect™ testing rates the structure for winds up to 100 mph and a snow load up to 2,000 pounds when properly assembled and anchored according to the manufacturer instructions.
Heavy-duty anchoring plates help secure the freestanding frame. The included PowerPort™ provides three standard electrical outlets and three USB ports for compatible lights, speakers, charging, and other outdoor accessories when connected to an external power source. The external power source is not included.
Assembly & Site Planning
Components arrive pre-fabricated, pre-drilled, and powder coated, with guided assembly support through the BILT® app. Install the pergola on a suitable level surface and follow the current manufacturer instructions for anchoring, drainage clearance, required setbacks, and site preparation.
