Construction & Outdoor Performance
The Beaumont uses cedar wood, reinforced cross beams, substantial support posts, and metal hardware to create a freestanding pergola with classic architectural character. Cedar provides natural resistance to decay, while the open trellis roof offers filtered light rather than the full weather protection of a solid or louvered roof.
Backyard Discovery’s Pro-Tect™ testing rates the structure for winds up to 100 mph when it is assembled and anchored exactly as specified. Resin feet help separate the posts from ground moisture, and concealed concrete anchors are designed to help stabilize the structure on a suitable installation surface.
The patented PowerPort™ provides three standard electrical outlets and three USB ports for compatible lighting, charging, speakers, and other outdoor accessories. It requires an external power source, which is not included.
Assembly & Site Planning
Components arrive pre-cut, pre-drilled, and pre-stained, and guided instructions are available through the BILT® app. Depending on climate and the current manufacturer manual, the cedar may require an appropriate sealant or periodic maintenance. Confirm the installation surface, anchoring requirements, clearances, permits, and HOA rules before assembly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the listed dimensions the usable space between the posts?
Not necessarily. The dimensions above describe the overall product size stored for this listing. Post spacing, roof overhang, foundation points, and usable interior area can be different. Verify the dimension diagram and manual for this model.
Does this pergola need to be anchored?
Yes. Outdoor structures must be assembled and anchored according to the exact model instructions. Any published performance rating depends on correct installation and the required foundation and anchors.
Can it be installed on an existing patio or deck?
Only if that surface and its supporting structure are suitable for the loads and approved anchoring method. Concrete thickness, reinforcement, edge distance, deck framing, condition, and local code may affect the answer.
Do I need a permit?
Permit, setback, engineering, and HOA requirements vary by location and installation. Check with the authority having jurisdiction before ordering or starting foundation work.
