Description
Beaumont 20 ft. x 12 ft. Outdoor Patio Pergola
The Backyard Discovery Beaumont 20 x 12 is a large freestanding cedar pergola designed to define a substantial outdoor dining, seating, or entertaining area. Its traditional multi-level trellis roof, decorative corbels, dual structural cross beams, and robust 6 x 6 in. posts create an open-air structure with a classic backyard appearance.
Key Features
- 20 x 12 ft. nominal freestanding footprint with approximately 240 sq. ft. of coverage
- 100% cedar wood construction
- Multi-level open trellis roof with decorative corbels
- Dual structural cross beams and robust 6 x 6 in. posts
- Pro-Tect™ tested for winds up to 100 mph when anchored as directed
- PowerPort™ with 3 electrical outlets and 3 USB ports
- Heavy-duty powder-coated steel anchoring plates with resin feet
- 5-year limited manufacturer warranty
Construction & Shade
The Beaumont uses cedar posts, beams, roof members, and decorative details to create a spacious freestanding structure. The open trellis roof provides filtered sunlight and airflow rather than the full rain protection of a solid or louvered roof.
Weather Performance & Power
Backyard Discovery’s Pro-Tect™ testing rates this model for winds up to 100 mph when assembled and anchored according to the manufacturer instructions. The included PowerPort™ provides three electrical outlets and three USB ports for compatible outdoor accessories; an external power source is required and is not included.
Assembly & Site Planning
Components are pre-cut, pre-drilled, and pre-stained, with BILT® guided assembly support. Install the pergola on a suitable level base and anchor it according to the current Backyard Discovery manual. Confirm clearances, local building requirements, permits, HOA rules, and any cedar sealing or maintenance requirements before assembly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the listed dimensions the usable space between the posts?
Not necessarily. Post spacing, roof overhang, foundation points, and usable interior area can differ from the overall dimensions. Verify the dimension diagram and manual for this exact model.
Does this structure need to be anchored?
Yes. It must be assembled and anchored according to the exact model instructions. Any published performance rating depends on correct installation and the required foundation and anchors.
Can it be installed on an existing patio or deck?
Only if that surface and its supporting structure are suitable for the loads and approved anchoring method. Concrete thickness, reinforcement, edge distance, deck framing, condition, and local code may matter.
Where can I compare planning considerations?
Start with the Outdoor Structure Planning Center, then follow the current manual for this exact product.
